Our Commitment to You
- Providing excellent, efficient orthodontic treatment is the primary focus of this office. All of our appointments and policies are designed to meet that objective.
- The comfort and satisfaction of our patients and parents is of the utmost importance to us. Please do not hesitate to let us know if there is any way we can serve you better.
- Parents are welcome to come back in the treatment area. However, if younger siblings are also attending the appointment, for their safety we ask that they remain in the reception room.
Patient Cooperation
- Providing quality treatment is a team effort! It is essential that we have the patient's cooperation with rubber band wear, retainer wear, and oral hygiene in order to produce and maintain excellent results.
- It is important that the patient has had a check-up and cleaning at the dentist prior to beginning orthodontic treatment. Dental visits every 6 months should also be maintained.
- Good oral hygiene is extremely important during orthodontic treatment. We will assess the patient's hygiene at every visit during active treatment. If a hygiene problem exists, we will work hard with the patient and parents in an attempt to improve hygiene skills. Decalcifications (white marks), cavities, and gum problems can result with poor oral hygiene.
- Disposable toothbrushes are available in the bathrooms and at the oral hygiene station. If necessary, please have patient brush after checking in on the computer.
Time Management
- We greatly respect your time and work hard to schedule appointments so that waiting time is kept to a minimum for all patients. Please arrive on time for appointments as this will enable us to accomplish the treatment planned at each visit.
- Orthodontic appointments are valid excused absences from school.
- Longer appointments (bandings/bondings, appliance removal, some appliance insertions) are scheduled between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:30 pm. The majority of appointments can be made before or after school, if desired.
- Rescheduling appointments: Please give 24 hours notice when possible.
- Missed appointments: Please reschedule as soon as possible to avoid a delay in treatment.
- Appointment reminders: As a friendly reminder, you will receive a convenient, computerized call and e-mail a couple of days before your scheduled appointment.
- Emergencies: Please call for an appointment. If necessary, the patient will be seen immediately at no charge. Dr. Sankey can be reached after hours 24/7 on the office pager.

Financial Arrangements
- COST
The cost of the treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. We will provide you with the fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets, including a no-down payment option. We also accept assignment from most insurance plans and file the necessary papers to the insurance company for you. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable and convenient.
- INSURANCE
As a service to you, we will file your insurance on your behalf. The balance will be arranged for you to pay. The responsible party assumes responsibility for any insurance amount unpaid for any reason. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
- PAYMENT OPTIONS
- A courtesy discount will be offered if payment is made in full at the onset of treatment.
- For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA, MASTERCARD and DISCOVER.
- To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend over a period of months. Monthly payments are not related to the frequency or number of visits.
- A no-down payment option is available through Healthcare Finance.
